About Strong Life

Shirley Miskimmin established Strong Life Physiotherapy in 2003 and brings her inspiring approach to health care. She is particularly skilled at motivating people to set and achieve their health goals and is committed to finding creative ways to assist each person, whatever their limitations may be.

She has gathered a team of friendly and professional staff who strive to provide a high level of care.  We realize it can be difficult to maintain a fitness programme or an injury rehabilitation regime. Whether you have individual or group sessions, staff are skilled at helping you stay motivated and enthusiastic. To this end, and to allow appropriate supervision, groups are kept small and personal.

The atmosphere of the clinic is relaxed and accepting of all fitness levels. Evening and Saturday morning classes and sessions are available for those who work during the week. It is easy to park in Essex Rd and HICAPS claims and credit card facilities are available on site.

The practice offers a range of treatment and exercise options to assist people to maintain or improve their fitness and functional level. Core strength is a central requirement for back and neck strength and mobility. We help people maintain their core strength to prevent episodes of back and neck pain or help them recover from accident and injury.

We are well equipped for physiotherapy. Our staff are trained in manual therapy, mobilization and massage and can design and supervise exercise programmes for fitness or injury rehabilitation. We also offer a range of treatment options including traction, ultrasound, interferential therapy, and TENS machines. Physiotherapists can supply braces, splints and other aids where needed.

Shirley keeps abreast of new physiotherapy developments and encourages staff to do ongoing training and professional development. She responds to the feedback she receives from clients and this year has introduced innovative new classes, older person’s exercise, hydrotherapy and intermediate level Tai Chi.
